I pictured you back on the shore, ankle anchored in. I dreamt I was drowning, but dreamt when I woke you'd be welcoming. I thought we could weather the seasons, but look what they did to you. I can't find a remedy for all of these things that I put you through. But you'll leave, you'll leave. I spent all my days staring out at the waves in their wandering, searching for something that they'll never find, but they learn too late.
